Home Remodeling
“Home remodel” means a lot of different things to a lot of people. We like to discuss what started the idea of a remodel, what areas of the home are frustrating the most, and what the top three things you would like to fix are. We also identify the must-haves, the nice-to-haves, and what is not a priority.
The main remodels we do include kitchens and bathrooms, but we’re equipped to tackle anything you bring to our attention.
Our Phased Approach to Large Remodeling Jobs
We first start with a master plan that outlines what’s being remodeled, the goals for each step, estimated timelines, budgets for each phase, and material and design choices for each phase.
We like to break it down by phases:
- Phase 1: Infrastructure & Demolition
- Phase 2: Kitchens & Bathrooms
- Phase 3: Living Areas & Bedrooms
- Phase 4: Finish Work & Details
We communicate with the homeowner daily to discuss updates and if they have any questions. We like to have you involved as much or as little as you want to be. We have clients who like to be very involved, others who want it as hands-off as possible. Whatever you want, we can accommodate.
Mid-project changes are common enough that we actually build them into our timeline. If something comes up that you want to adjust, don’t stress. We’ll confirm the adjustments, the price change, and adjust the timeline. Changes are doable with good communication, clear documentation, and a flexible but realistic mindset.
We Work With Minimal Disruption to Your Life
Before work is started, we communicate areas that will be impacted, hours that the crew will be there, talk about work zones and safe zones, and what utilities will be temporarily unavailable. Here are a few of the ways we minimize our disruption to your daily function and comfort:
- We set up containment in the work areas.
- We try to leave a spare bedroom and bathroom for the homeowners to use.
- Clean daily after work is completed for the day.
- We have regular check-ins to make sure the homeowner is content.
- We leave key areas untouched, such as a spare bath or bedroom, so the home is livable.
